Additional Information
The plans relate to a two-storey, twelve bay warehouse (120 feet x 24 feet) to be built on the eastern side of Leeds Road adjacent to James Brooke & Sons, Marble Works. The Leeds Road elevation appears as only a single storey, but the warehouse is built into the slope. Henry Kilner Beaumont was a drysalter and dyeware supplier who had premises on Market Street (1879 Directory). Logwood is a West Indian tree, (Haematoxylon campechianum), the wood of which (logwood) produces a substance used in dyeing.
