Mr Swift's shop is one of a parade of shops on the western side of Bradford Road, before the junction with Willow Lane. The Block Plan, included with the application gives the names of the neighbouring occupants and their trades. From the south, the Huddersfield end, this reads, Thomas's Drapers; Swift, Druggist; Glover, Jeweller; Bates, Draper; Grant, Butcher; Crossley, Grocer; Engine Tavern; Thopson, Newsagent; Willow Lane.
