Additional Information
The plans provide for the erection of a single stotey kitchen extension to the reat of an existing propery. James Atkinson Dufton is listed in the 1881 Directory as being a victualler and occupying the Crown & Cushion at 15 Macaulay Street. He may well have owned other properties including this in Prospect Street. The adjoining properties were held by Mr Haigh and Ramsden White, listed in the same directory as a Police Inspector. The Block PLan shows at the reat of the properties an 'Old Lodge' belonginging to Sir J.W. Ramsden. Is this a lodge to Spring Grove House?
