Additional Information
The plans provide for the replacement of the existing group of buildings, including stable, warehouses, cottages and a yard with a larger three storey warehouse occupying the whole site. The three storey warehouse has a frontage 44 feet wide to Beaumont Street and occupies the full depth of the site (some 96 feet) as far as the Huddersfield Fair Ground.
Alan Brooke lists Victorian Mills in his Catalogue of Textile Mills (Number 337) and notes a fire in the premises of John Addy & Sons, causing £2-3,000 damage in 1894. (Huddersfield Weekly Examiner 4 August 1894).
