Additional Information
The plans are to take out the existing front wall of the three storey building and replace it with a new frontage, which includes larger shop windows at ground floor level, and more extensive fenestration to first and second floors. The drawings which show what appear to be the original mullioned windows suggest that the building may date from the 17th century. The building on the eastern side of Northgate was bounded by Back Union Street to the south and Firth's Yard to the south.
