Additional Information
The Wellington Hotel was re-modelled in order to unify the styreet line of Westgate. At the same time improvements were made including additions and changes to the layout. The hotel as re-built was of three storeys with a basement, and a single storey extension to the rear. A later modification, which was approved in June 1936, allowed for three attic bedrooms. The building was to be constructed in stone with concrete floors and a blue slate roof. Apart from signage, the elevation to Westgare is largely unchanged since that time.
