Additional Information
The plans provide for the building of four houses and a shop fronting on to Great Northern Street on a plot of ground (93 feet x 69 feet 6 inches) leased to John William Brook bounded by Fitzwilliam Street to the south; Great Northern Street to the east; a back road to the west and a plot of land in lease to Mr Wilkinson. The workmanlike drawings show a row of plain houses fronting Great Northern Street. The two storey properties, with two rooms on the ground floor and three in the chamber are built over a small cellar to the fron of the dwellings. Behind the house is a yard, to the rear of which is a single storey shop and the usual out offices. The shop is probably for light industrial use, rather than for retail as it is located in the back road, rather than the main street.
