Additional Information

There are two sets of drawings for the project indicating some changes during the application process to meet the requirements of the Borough Surveyor.

The development includes a block of four shops with frontages to Shore Street, with residential accommodation behind and presumably above [there are no first floor plans]. In the basement are to be found cellars, storage, coals and W.C.s. The latter aroused the Borough Surveyor's interest in respect to ventilation.

The new row of shops and houses an existing shop belonging to Edwin Mills, Esq., and existing buildings which form the junction of Shore Street and Aspley Street. Behind these buildings and in the yard between Colne Street and the back yards of the building fronting on to Aspley Street, is the site of the proposed workshop for Edwin Mills.
