Additional Information
Mid C19. Ashlar. Pitched slate roof. 3 storeys. Moulded eaves cornice with modillions. Nos (?) have characteristic late C19 or early C20 shopfronts, west one with curved plate glass windows and spindly glazing bars, east one with broad mullions and a mezzanine inserted. No (?) has characteristic 1930's shopfront, with black and green bakelite plinth and chrome frieze above the plate glass window. Shops are separated by horizontally rusticated piers with Tuscan capitals. Moulded cornice above ground floor. 3 ranges of sashes. Those on 1st floor have Gibbs surrounds with dentilled cornice. Those on 2nd floor are linked to them by fluted consoles, are segment-headed and have moulded surrounds with cornices. Interior good 1920's wooden panelling and chaste balustraded gallery, slightly reminiscent of Edgar Wood.
