GREENHEAD PARK. Fountain in centre of Greenhead Park, opposite entrance to Vernon Avenue. 1888. Ashlar. 4 steps up. Base with projecting semi-circular bowls on gadrooned oriels. 8 fluted Tuscan columns (2 at each corner, placed diagonally) taking 4 semi-circular arches with keystones and moulded voussoirs. Fluted frieze. Moulded cornice. Ogee corona of ribs and fleur-de-lys finials. Each side has much strapwork cresting. Plaque inscribed "THE GIFT OF SIR JOHN W RAMSDEN BART TO HUDDERSFIELD 1888".
